Getting Started

If you've landed here, something brought you. That's usually enough. You don't need to be in crisis, have a diagnosis, or have everything figured out before reaching out. Many people come to therapy feeling stuck, exhausted, or like they understand the problem intellectually — but nothing is shifting. If any of that resonates, a free 15-minute consultation is a low-pressure way to see if this feels like a good fit.

It's a relaxed 15-minute conversation — not an intake, not an assessment. We'll talk a little about what's been going on for you, what you're hoping for, and I'll answer any questions you have. It's a chance for both of us to get a sense of whether working together feels right. There's no pressure to book, and no wrong thing to say.

I work with teens (age 12 and up), adults, and seniors. A lot of my clients are people who are highly self-aware — they've often read the books, tried the strategies, and still feel stuck. Many are navigating burnout, chronic stress, trauma, or the sense that their body is reacting faster than their mind can keep up. I also support neurodivergent individuals and couples. If you're not sure whether your situation fits, just reach out — that's what the consultation is for.
Sessions & Scheduling

Standard sessions are 50 minutes. Longer sessions are available on request if that would work better for you.
For frequency, I generally recommend starting weekly or every two weeks. Research consistently shows this leads to more meaningful progress — it gives us enough continuity to go deeper, rather than spending time re-orienting each session. That said, I work with your schedule and your life. If you need to meet less frequently, we can talk honestly about what that might mean for your progress and adjust as we go. -
There's no single answer to this — it depends on what you're working on, how long the patterns have been present, and what "done" looks like for you. Some people find significant relief in a few months. Others choose to work longer because they find ongoing support valuable. What I can tell you is that we won't keep you in therapy longer than it's useful. We'll check in regularly on how things are feeling and what's shifting.

Daytime appointments are available, with a limited number of evening slots. If you're having trouble finding a time that works, reach out directly — we'll figure it out together.
Fees & Insurance

Sessions are $180. This applies to individual therapy, EMDR, and animal-integrated sessions and couple’s therapy.
I know cost is a real consideration for a lot of people. I try to be transparent about fees upfront so there are no surprises. -
Many extended health plans in Ontario cover Registered Psychotherapy. I'm a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) through the CRPO, and I provide receipts for every session that you can submit to your insurance provider.
Coverage varies by plan, so I'd encourage you to call your provider and ask whether your plan covers services from a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying). Some insurers may also ask whether I work under clinical supervision — I do, and my supervisor's name can be included on your receipt if needed.
I offer direct billing to Green Shield Canada. For all other providers, payment is collected at the time of the session and you submit the receipt to your insurer directly. -
It's a regulated designation through the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). RP (Qualifying) therapists have completed their formal training and are working toward full registration while practicing under clinical supervision. It reflects where I am in the credentialing process — not a limit on the quality of care. I'm also a Registered Practical Nurse who can practice psychotherapy under the College of Nurses.
Animal- Assisted Therapy on the Farm

Not at all. No farming background, no animal experience, nothing required. The animals — particularly the goats — tend to make introductions themselves. Fair warning: the goats are enthusiastic and will absolutely get in your personal space. The horses are a little more on their own terms; they may engage or they may not, and there's something quietly powerful about that too. You don't need to do anything except show up.

There are no physical requirements to participate. That said, it is a working farm — the ground is uneven, it can be muddy, and the terrain isn't smooth. If you have mobility considerations, please mention it when you reach out and we'll talk through what's possible and what might need to be adapted. I want this to be accessible to as many people as it can be.

It's still a therapy session — we're still doing the work. But the setting changes something. Being outside, around animals, away from an office environment can make it easier to access things that feel harder to reach indoors. Some people find they talk more freely when they're moving. Others notice their nervous system settle just from being in a different kind of space. Sessions are held near Kingston, Ontario, and are available on a limited basis. Virtual Therapy

Yes — the research on virtual therapy is strong, and outcomes are comparable to in-person for most concerns. Many clients actually find it easier to open up from the comfort of their own space. Virtual sessions are available to anyone in Ontario, and the therapeutic relationship — which is the most important factor in whether therapy works — translates well online. All you need is a private space and a stable connection.
